Approach this strange geodesic dome!

Beams of light traverse its lines and neon triangles. These represent the digital connections and communications established worldwide during the lockdown. Their movement was generated from data collected from video conferencing application downloads.

Symbolizing interrelation, network, solidarity, and autonomy, this architecture relies on a structure where the cohesion of the whole is ensured by the solidity of its elements.

The dome, with its holistic structure where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and the traces that appear and disappear along the bars and nodes, evolving to the rhythm of music, becomes an allegory of interrelation, a questioning of the importance of exchange and communication.

Technique

The audiovisual installation Synergetics is based on the illumination provided by LED neon lights covering the dome and the creation of soundscapes from the digital communication networks developed during the 2020 lockdowns.

A data retrieval system linked to the downloading of video conferencing applications allows for a metaphorical visualization of an intertwined but invisible network. This dataset forms the basis of our audiovisual composition, where art and technology combine to reveal and give materiality and poetry to the digital flows and exchanges that traverse the world.
