Synergetics

Description

Synergetics is a unique light and sound installation that symbolizes the connection and communication between people. The spherical architecture, an 8-meter diameter geodesic dome, is supported by a self-contained lattice structure. The stability of the whole is ensured by the solidarity of its different elements, creating a self-supporting structure. This metaphorically represents a holistic approach where the whole is more than the sum of its parts.

Technique

The Synergetics audiovisual installation is based on illuminating the structure of a geodesic dome using LED bars. To achieve this, we developed software to calculate the LED paths on the dome and control the pixel mapping using Madmapper.

We also created a set of modules for Touch Designer developed under openFrameworks, allowing us to create topological effects on the dome’s structure. These effects can be linked to real-time or pre-recorded data and can respond to audience interactions or an audio stream.
