Insight

Description

Insight is an immersive and interactive installation that offers a narrative about Martian exploration, specifically the Insight space mission.

It is built around the DEAUM device, an 8-meter diameter luminous geodesic dome that interprets the data transmitted by the Insight probe into a language of light.

A landscape inspired by the probe’s landing site is projected onto the walls of the installation space, providing a total immersion experience. Cameras capture the movements of visitors, allowing them to interact directly with elements of these videos. A sound composition using spatial and Martian data and sounds provided by NASA is played and spatialized all around the dome.

Technique

The installation is based on a luminous geodesic dome called DEAUM (Dispositif d’Écriture Augmentée Multimédia) and features 270° video projections that incorporate interaction with the audience through Lidar sensors.
